The song was written by the band's bass player, Bruce Hall, who stepped in to provide lead vocals on the track. REO Speedwagon are a multi-platinum rock band from Champaign, Illinois consisting of Kevin Cronin (lead vocals/guitar), Dave Amato (guitar), Neal Doughty (piano/organ), Bruce Hall (bass), and Bryan Hitt (drums).
