When I first became a dad my priorities were so much more different, my mindset was different, and level of maturity as well. I feel like I’ve changed a lot since my son was born and not changed for the worst, but for the better. He has made me a better man. I love being his dad and I wouldn’t have it ANY other way. At first I was scared. I was scared of what kind of dad I may be, scared of whether or not I could handle it, and scared of how it would change my life. Now I’m not really so much scared of those specific things per say, but more so worried that I won’t be someone who he can look up to or depending on, scared of not being able to protect him at all times from all things, and scared that I’ll do a terrible job of preparing him for the world. I know that is how most parents feel at the end of the day, but it doesn’t make it any less stressful. I just want to be a good dad to him, be a good partner to my girl, and give my family everything they want or need. ALL of the nice things. Being a dad has been amazing, I love it very much, and I would NOT trade it for the world!
