Drakkhen Any% *Former* World Record Speedrun in

HAK HAK DRAKKHEN!

I finally did it! What a journey this has been. Never did I think that when I first shared this game with my stream I would end up investing nearly 200 hours into researching and running this game haha.

Also never did I think we'd have a Drakkhen event and so many people taking part of it. It's truly been special and I can't thank the community enough for the support during this grind and for this old janky gem of a game!

I do want to really thank Dragondarch for being my exposure to this speedrun! While I played this game as a child and never got far and then on stream finally got to beat it casually, I don't think I would have gotten interested in the speedrun if it wasn't for him and that pretty insane time he put up for a game that at the time had only 2 runners on the official boards.

I tried to come up with as many tiny optimizations as I could to save time such as using teleport in the ice castle after hitting the switch, skipping pause buffers outside of the paralyzing guy in the last castle, pre-hovering the next icon I am going to use and other things of the sort and many people in the Drakkhen community helped out a lot.

I really want to shoutout sYn, SBDWolf, Skye, Narga and Belial_13 for all helping push strats forward through their discoveries and ideas. Also shoutouts to the Japanese runner (not sure what their name is) that really showed off some amazing risky but fast melee strats I used here that payed off big time. I want to say too on https://www.speedrun.com/drakkhen/guides there is a guide I made to get you going if you want to have a start to run this yourself! Also me and the other active players will be down to answer questions about the game/run and any smaller optimizations and new strats I go for in here that aren't explained in the guide or video!
