Bike Build | Giant Boulder SE

My cousin Daniel wanted to start biking with us, so he dug out his old bike that he hadn’t ridden since college and so it was just sitting in storage for over ten years. It’s an early 2000’s Giant Boulder SE steel frame 21 speed mountain bike and had a few tiny rust spots and both tires were flat. Needless to say, it was in need of some TLC to get it back into roadworthy shape. After looking it over and discussing Daniel’s concerns about the tires and the gears, my godson Gabe and I loaded it up into the car and brought it to my home workshop. I spent a total of 4 hours in the backyard cleaning the bike, replacing the tires, patching one inner tube and replacing the other one, cleaning and checking the drivetrain, and adjusting the brakes. The bike turned out fine and rides great! This is a short video documentation of the process.
