Niue Vaka Race- Mixed Relay (Annual Traditional Canoe Race)

A brief capture of Niue's islands famous annual Vaka (Canoe) Races-Mixed Relay. As part of the islands constitution celebrations this open event is normally held on the week leading up to Niue Constitution Day 19th October.
A beautiful traditional showcase of warriors and warrioress take out to the pristine blue waters in a challenge of strength and endurance.
This year competitors and participants alike wore pink ribbons or anything pink in tribute and remembrance of all those who have battled and are still battling cancer.
