Any teaching that suggests your access to God flows through a leader is a misuse of Scripture. The Bible is clear: there is one mediator between God and man—Jesus Christ (1 Timothy 2:5). Leaders are called to guide, equip, and oversee, not to stand between believers and God. Apostolic authority facilitates growth; it does not replace Christ’s priesthood. Submission supports maturity, but access to God is granted by the blood of Jesus, not by human covering. If access must flow through a person, Christ’s finished work has been diminished.
