Quartet of Halcyon ships

All done within Blender. Bastardised version of PCO used for the planets. Background is a mix of textures and nodes.

A trio of Halcyon ships. From the largest to the smallest:

Victory class grand swordship, cruiser - 1066m x 1242m x 283m

Halcyons, as a nomadic species, hate to use large ships. Considering they generally do not have stable long term locations, logistically sustaining huge ships is just not that viable for them. And due to their advanced technology and fueling their ships by literally going into stars, this is usually not a problem.


In general, dagger and standard swordship class vessels are more than enough for their needs - be it protecting their assets, their exploration efforts, their relief efforts and their more combative encounters. Despite their size, they are generally easily able to punch massively above their weights - making facing them just not economically profitable. Which goes just well for them, since they do not typically seek out fights.


Sadly, no amount of tricks and technology is always going to have things go your way. Sometimes, you do not have a choice. Sometimes, you are forced to play the other people's games. This is where the Victory comes in. Huge by Halcyon standards. Exponentially multiplying everything which makes their standard vessels so exceedingly dangerous.



They are very rarely seen - either near one of the Halcyons' extremely rare worlds and entrenched colonial locations, in their largest clans, near their citadels or in very, very, VERY bad situations.



Or in the hands of very, very lucky people who found such ships mothballed, hibernating and can handle the logistical strain of running such a vessel.
