Shane Filan on becoming an ambassador for Irish Cancer Society Relay For Life

We are delighted to have Shane Filan on board as our official ambassador for the Irish Cancer Society Relay For Life.

Shane has been a long-time supporter of the organisation after losing both his parents Mae and Peter to cancer just nine months apart.

The Irish Cancer Society Relay For Life sees local communities come together for a twenty-four hour event to celebrate cancer survivors, remember those who have been lost to cancer and raise awareness of the services provided by the Irish Cancer Society locally and nationally.

Relay For Life began in the 1980s and was created by the American Cancer Society. In recent years, the concept has gone global and Relay For Life events are now help in more than 20 countries around the world.

The event focuses on a set route where team members take turns walking, running or jogging around the track for a twenty-four hour period. For more information, visit: https://www.cancer.ie/relay
