Showing an easy and safe way to trim a deep drum shell to make it shallower. In this example I'm cutting a customer's floor tom shell in half. He will be using this for part of a cocktail kit. The method also works for converting a tom to a snare, or just trimming a few inches off a power size tom to make it a standard or short stack size.
