Varanasi or Banaras is also known as “Kaashi”, A city of Lord Shiva. It is one of the oldest cities of the world having a history of more than 3000 years old and As per hindu dharma, It is world’s oldest city.
Varanasi has a powerful energy as Lord Shiva has 12 Jyotirlinga and one is in Varanasi, Popularly knows as “Kaashi Vishwanath”. People around the world come to take blessings of Lord Shiva and feel the exceptional energy of the oldest city that always stays the same even after thousands of years.

It is believed that Kaashi rests on Shiva’s Trident and blessed by Gods. This is the reason that even after so many attacks this city revived in the end.

Varanasi has 88 Ghats, Out of which Dashashwamedh is one of the popular for it’s Ganga aarti everyday at around 7:00 pm.
The modernised ghat Assi attracts the tourist because of it’s location and very close to main road, You will find many Cafes near Assi ghat. To enjoy Boating experience and Morning Yoga, You must visit Assi ghat.
There are two ghats where last rites are performed, Manikarnika Ghat and Raja Harishchand Ghat. People believe whoever dies here gets Salvation and So many people have a desire to die here.

How to travel to Varanasi and plan your trip?

Once you reach Varanasi station, You can book a hotel in Bhelupur which is a centre of Varanasi and very close to popular ghats and temples. Then you can plan to visit Kaashi vishwanath temple and Dashashwamedh ghat which is only 3-4 kms from your hotel and 0.5 km close to each other.
Once you visit these two places, You can plan a visit to Assi ghat, Where you can have a boating experience, Explore Cafes ( Terracota Cafe, Pizzeria) and spend a little time at ghats, Every ghat is attached to other ghat so you can have a small walk and explore other ghats.

These places are at a radius of 3-6 kms - Kaashi Vishwanath Temple, Sankat Mochan Temple, Durga Kund Temple, New Kaashi Vishwanath (Bhu Campus), Assi ghat, Manikarnika Ghat, Dashashwamedh Ghat.

Once you visit the above places, There are few good places you must visit-

Kaashi Naresh Fort, Ramnagar- It is 7-8 kms from Bhelupur or the above places
Sarnath- It is 11-14 kms from Bhelupur or above places.

You can also explore food market of Varanasi-

There is a Godowlia Market in Kaashi Vishwanath lane where you can explore great food stalls of Tamatar Chaat, Badi and choti kachori, Lassi, Paan and Chai.
