Ukraine Claims Plotting Attack On Russian "War Criminals" In Mali | Firstpost Africa

As the Russia-Ukraine war drags on in the heart of Europe, its tremors are being felt all the way in Western Africa. Last week, Russian fighters suffered their biggest battleground losses yet in Africa at the hands of separatist rebels in Mali. Now Ukraine says it played a key role in it. The Ukrainian military intelligence service says it provided Mali rebels with the necessary information and called it a successful military operation against Russian war criminals. While no official death toll has been put out, the Malian army has said it suffered a "large number" of deaths in the intense fight against separatist rebels. Russia's Wagner mercenary group has said it had suffered severe losses, including a commander.
