This Song is based on a Story i wrote:
The Crystal Carousel
It’s evening.
You hear something — faint, melodic, unsettling. A voice singing.
Not everyone hears it.
Even if you're surrounded by people, it only calls to one.
Then… it appears.
A crystal carousel.
At first, it's beautiful. Ethereal lights shimmer like diamonds. The music is nostalgic, like something from a dream half-remembered. A figure stands beside it, smiling.
Their appearance shifts depending on who sees them — to some, they're male; to others, female; and to some… something entirely beyond words.
They speak:
“I’m the Caretaker of this beautiful Crystal Carousel.”
Their voice is warm. Inviting. It melts away your fear. Your pain. Your doubts.
You feel weightless. Numb. Safe.
They gesture toward the ride.
You climb on.
The carousel is unlike any you’ve seen — rows of glittering seats, animals that seem carved from ice, mirrors that don’t quite reflect reality. Some say the ride changes depending on who boards it.
Some say… it knows you.
The ride begins to spin.
Slowly, gently — and then, the music changes.
It bends. Distorts.
Sweet turns sour. Beautiful becomes broken.
The Caretaker speaks again:
“Ah… now comes the part where direction is decided.”
The world outside the carousel twists into a deep, purple starfield.
Waves of light ripple through the sky, warped and melting like wet paint.
You feel everything and nothing.
“Let’s see… do you need a nudge?
Or is the ride over already?”
Half the lights go out. Some shatter. One half of the carousel is now cracked, grim, decaying — the other still glows with impossible beauty.
“You know… consider yourself lucky.
We can help you.
Or... the ride ends here.”
Then, the memories come.
Moments you buried. Faces you forgot. Truths you feared.
And then —
someone appears.
Through golden lights, he steps forward.
Your uncle. The one who just passed.
His smile is gentle. His voice is soft:
“It’s not your fault.”
You freeze.
“I miss you very much,” he says.
“But it’s not your fault.”
You hug him. The embrace feels real.
You cry.
And as the carousel slows, the Caretaker begins to hum — softly, almost kindly.
Then, in a blink—
You're back.
The sky above you is still.
Your friends look at you, confused.
“Are you okay?” one of them asks.
“You just… stopped walking. You were staring at the sky. We called you, but…”
You smile, quietly.
“I’m okay. Actually… I feel really good.”
And as you walk, you softly sing the song of the crystal carousel.
But not every ride ends this way.
Some find themselves on the dark side of the carousel.
There, you don’t meet the ones you miss —
You confront the things you’ve done.
And if you can’t regret them,
if your heart won’t yield...
The carousel disintegrates beneath you.
You fall into the void —
a sea of collapsing purple stars.
In the real world, your body drops to the ground.
Unconscious.
Cold.
Fate decided.
The Crystal Carousel comes only for those who are near their edge.
Some it helps.
Some it judges.
Some it ends.
But it always sings first.
A voice, distant and beautiful:
“I’m the Caretaker of this beautiful Crystal Carousel…”
So if you ever hear the melody —
Run.
Or listen.
But whatever you do… don’t ignore it.
The carousel is waiting.
