Aion Classic 2.5 was released recently and we decided to check out the game again after taking a long break.

(Still waiting to check out that new executioner class!)

Patch 2.5 brought along the new daeva potential function which basically shows how geared an individual is.

So can you actually PVP being undergeared with a low gear score? How effective is this as a gauge of gear?

From what we see so far, the system seems to favor physical classes more so if you're playing a magic class, it doesn't mean much in terms of gameplay even if your score is significantly lower.

(Other than the fact when you run into people in defense sets like MR / Evasion and you simply can't land anything on them because of lower tier gear)

Game population at the moment is pretty good, both sides have a good amount of players so it shouldn't be hard to find pvp , get groups to run stuff and etc.

Aion Classic EU is going live soon, so there might be some of the population moving over.. but that's another issue by itself.

Anyway, the bottom line is that, everyone should just chill and have fun without worrying or being bothered by how much gear do you actually need to have before you can go out and PVP.

If you don't have enough gear, you could always go out in a group since numbers outweigh any gear advantage that an individual might have.. 🤣

We get zerged way too often even though we don't have great gear.. 😅

Having played on Aion retail before, we do enjoy this style of casual, nostalgic PVP fun that we can still find on Aion Classic and also enjoy collecting the skins in game again 😆
