How to Reduce Self-Discharge in Supercapacitors

Описание к видео How to Reduce Self-Discharge in Supercapacitors

Self discharge has always been a big problem for me. Now I've finally fixed it. Normal self-discharge occurs over days or weeks and is caused by the slow formation of gaps in the Helmholtz double-layer. In this video, I discuss possible causes of unusually high self-discharge (the kind that occurs in a matter of minutes) and methods to fix unusually high self discharge. To fix my supercapacitors, all I did was let them sit for a few days while constantly charging and discharging them. This helps the electrolyte wet the electrodes better and helps form a protective oxide layer over the aluminum foil to prevent corrosion.
