Elephant highway and the land of nothing - Botswana | Cycling around the planet #22

Botswana, land of the Kalahari desert and the elephant highway. After receiving a new rim in Zambia I crossed the Zambezi river into Botswana. Within a few kilometers I had already seen dozens of elephants. Carefully and respectfully, I cycled amongst them until I reached the Makgadikgadi salt pans. A surreal, otherwordly place to be cycling and camping on. I don't think I ever felt so remote as there.
On Ngami lake I experienced the life of fishermen, who make a living between the hippos. Then I was ready to cycle into Namibia, at least that is what I thought...
