What is that purple stuff! - Resident Evil 4 chapter 2

Welcome back to my first playthrough of Resident Evil 4.
Today we are diving into chapter 2 where we find Luis and Leon tied up together in a shack and injected with a mysterious purple goop! I think this purple stuff is the key to why the villagers are acting bewitched! We also have a lead on where the president's daughter is, an old church and we have a clue on how to get there. It's the getting there that's the hard part!
