Kayaking at Channel Islands National Park + cute Island Foxes (17 of 419)

Kayaking, hiking, wildlife spotting and magical sunsets abound at Channel Islands National Park - isolated and undeveloped islands just a short boat ride from Los Angeles.

Channel Islands National Park is the only National Park in California that we have never visited before - if you include National Parks we visited before we hit the road with our RV in 2018. It's fair to say we were more than a little excited!

We took the 1-hour long Island Packers ferry ride from Ventura Harbor to Santa Cruz island and camped there for 2 nights. On the first day, we did a kayaking tour of the sea caves and that was so much fun! We also saw some marine life in the tide pools. On the second day we hiked to the Smugglers Cove (an 8.5 mile hike) and in the evening we hiked to the Cavern point to see an absolutely stunning sunset. And we saw the super cute Island Foxes many times!
