Hamburger SV Ultras - Best Moments

Hamburger SV is one of the most famous and traditional clubs in Germany and has one of the biggest fan bases in the country. Nowadays, HSV is far away from the big success that have achieved in the past (the club has won the Bundesliga for 6 times and even won a Champions League in 1983), but still has a quality home and away support, so as a great average attendance. As a curiosity, until 2018 (when they got relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga for the first time in their history) HSV was only German club that had never been relegated.
They play at the Volksparkstadion, which has the capacity for around 57000 people. All the organized supporters groups of Hamburger SV are located in North stand behind the goal that is called Nordtribüne Hamburg.
HSV has one of the best Ultras scenes in the country with many quality groups being part of the Nordtribüne. The club also had some famous groups in the past that are currently inactive or have dissolved themselves.
Currently the biggest Ultras group in the Nordtribüne is Castaways Hamburg that was founded in 2016 and has two subgroups called Hamburg Süd and Sektion SH. Other active groups in the tribune are Clique du Nord 2017 (which also has two subgroups called HH-Ost and Glinde 509), Seemannspack 2018, Forza 2019, Banda Caotica 2019, Sektion Nord, Vorstadtbande, Iron Loyalty Hamburg, Turn Up and Dock 87. Nowadays, HSV also has a known active Hooligan firm called Hamburg Riot Crew (HRC), but in the past they had other two pretty strong groups on the streets that are no longer active called Hamburg Ultras 1989 (despite their name says “Ultras” they acted like Hooligans) and Löwen Hamburg 1976.
Other important groups in the scene that have dissolved themselves in recent years were the Chosen Few Hansestadt Hamburg 1999 (this group has dissolved in 2015 and one year later many of their ex-members started the group Castaways Hamburg) and Poptown 1998 (this group dissolved in 2019 and their members created new groups in the scene like Forza and Banda Caotica). Hamburger SV Ultras are known for their impressive choreographies, loud support and great pyro shows. They have undoubtedly a very good and interesting scene.
Even though HSV had some groups with political tendencies in the past (Poptown was left and Löwen Hamburg had right political ideologies), currently the whole scene is considered to be apolitical.
Hamburger SV Ultras and Hooligans have a strong friendship with Sektion 12 from FC København (it started between the groups Chosen Few and Urban Crew) and also have an old friendship with the fan scenes of Hannover 96 and Bielefeld. They also have good contacts with the lads of Glasgow Rangers.
HSV biggest rivalry is towards St. Pauli (whom they play the famous “Hamburg Derby), but Werder Bremen are also considered to be big rivals.
