Hiking Santa Elena Canyon Trail in Big Bend National Park. 1500 Foot High Cliffs!

This was our FIRST TIME to Big Bend National Park! It was pretty awesome!

Spring Break 2024 road trip to eclipse totality in Texas!
April 4th, day 6 of our 11 day trip, led us to Big Bend National Park.

One of our 1st places to visit within Big Bend NP was Santa Elena Canyon. The massive canyon walls stood 1500 feet high on each side of the Rio Grande River below. We had to take the canyon trail into the canyon to see the impressive canyon up close. It was an awesome sight! Well worth the short hike from the trailhead. Definitely a must do if you are visiting Big Bend National Park.
