It is (almost) literally impossible to explore everything that Mexico City has to offer in just a few days. Instead of fighting this massive metropolis, we leaned into it and decided to focus WAY in and explore only a single neighborhood, Roma Norte.

Our first stop was Huerto Roma Verde. This lush escape from the traffic and concrete of CDMX is an idealized vision of what the city could be. Organic gardens, workshops about sustainability, and shops selling locally made goods await you in this urban oasis. Stepping through the inconspicuous doorway lands you in an open air room made up of hundreds of 5 gallon water jugs with a palm tree as the center piece. It truly is a special place in the heart of the concrete jungle.

Roma Norte is not lacking in restaurants and the one that deserves a place in the spotlight is Distro Bistrot. Stepping into the basement space, the entire world gets left behind. Sit at the chef counter for a unique experience and chat with the chefs while they prepare some of the best quality food you will ever have.

It is impossible to walk through Roma Norte without noticing the street art. The neighborhood's blank walls become canvases for all artists.
