The 2024 Peugeot 508 has undergone a notable facelift, bringing a fresh look to both the sedan and the 508 SW wagon. One of the most striking changes is the introduction of Peugeot’s latest grille and badge. However, these models will not feature the new mild hybrid engines that were recently added to the 3008 and 5008 SUVs. Instead, the design changes are more evident, with narrower LED Matrix headlights now standard across the range and three DRL claw marks replacing the single fang seen on previous models. The grille has also been redesigned, seamlessly flowing into the bumper below.

The rear of the car has seen subtle changes, with the Peugeot lion mascot now replaced by 'Peugeot' lettering. Inside, the old gearshift handle has been swapped for a toggle, a change that was previously made to the 208 and 2008 models. The steering wheel also sports the new Peugeot badge. The i-Cockpit interior now boasts an updated 10-inch infotainment system, which supports over-air updates and offers customizable widgets and scrollable windows. Additionally, the 12-inch digital gauge pack has new display modes, and the 508 comes with enhanced voice recognition software.

In terms of performance, the 508 does not feature Peugeot’s new 134 hp 1.2-liter mild-hybrid engines. Instead, it retains the older 128 hp 1.2-liter triple in base models. Buyers also have the option of a 1.5-liter diesel with the same power output. For those interested in hybrid options, there are three plug-in hybrid variants available. The most powerful of these is the 508 PSE (Peugeot Sport Engineered) Hybrid4, which offers a combined 355 hp by combining a 197 hp 1.6-liter inline-four engine with two electric motors.

Charging the 508 PSE is efficient, with a 7.4 kW onboard charger that can fully charge the battery in just 100 minutes. However, this faster charger is an additional cost for lower-spec models, which come with a 3.7 kW charger that takes twice as long. As for pricing, while Peugeot has not released the exact figures for the revised 508, a slight increase from the previous model's base price is anticipated. The top-end 508 PSE SW model is expected to approach the £60k mark.
