Death Valley National Park spans millions of acres and has many trails for hiking. One of the more popular trails is through Golden Canyon. Today we take you along to check out the trail to Red Cathedral.

If you are visiting Death Valley National Park and think that there are no opportunities for hiking, check out Golden Canyon! This 2.9 mile out and back trail winds through some narrow areas to Red Cathedral. There is a slight gain in elevation and a small amount of scrambling but nothing too terribly strenuous overall.

Within the canyon walls is plenty of color that leads to Red Cathedral, a rusty colored wall at the end reminiscent of cathedral walls. Make sure to arrive near sunset or sunrise for a spectacular show of color.
