#6255

For sale in our St. Louis location is a 1964 Pontiac GTO. 1964 was the first year for the GTO and what a first year it was! Standard with a 389 cubic inch V8 and available with a three deuce carburetor set up giving it 348 horsepower. This was a modest 23 horsepower over the single 4 barrel carburetor, but oh what a look! Quite possibly one of the best looking engines from the sixties. This outstanding '64 has just received it full rotisserie restoration. Originally this GTO was a black on black, 4 speed with a single 4 barrel carburetor feeding fuel to the 389. As with a lot of muscle cars from the sixties, the original engine is long gone. Now in its place is a 428 cubic inch tri-power high performance engine. Backing up this stout power plant is a Muncie 4-speed with a Hurst shifter. Out back is a 10 bolt rear end with posi-traction. During the extensive restoration this GTO received a new exhaust system that included factory replacement exhaust manifolds, aluminized pipes with magna-flow mufflers and a factory appearance splitter tailpipes. Slowing things down for this powerful '64 is a complete new front power disc braking system. Keeping things planted to the ground are new shocks, springs, 15" alloy wheels and tires. All of the hard work really paid off as this little GTO sure looks ready for some trophies. The body work and paint for this '64 are outstanding! Looking at the photos sighting down the side will only begin to give you an idea of how much work it takes to make a black car so straight. No expense was spared during the rotisserie restoration and the list of work goes on. Another little bonus is the PHS documentation that comes with the sale proving this car to be the real deal.
