RUN - A Plague Tale: Requiem | Visceral Filmic Gameplay Edit (Hugo’s Horror)

Its the only thing that matters once the rats come . The sequel to the refreshingly surprising "A Plague Tale : Innocence" introduces the world of 14th Century Aquitaine, France in immaculate detail.

Requiem is the perfect example of a game developer working on something that they truly love. The special things that Asobo has been able to do with regards to the rat hordes is just amazing. With thousands and sometimes what seems like tens of thousands of rats onscreen at the same time, the arrival of the horde comes with horror.

In this video we explore the foundational premise of the sequel and go in depth in to Amicia's regret of having experienced seeing Hugo go through his condition.

Hugo has an inner power that has the fate of the world in his hands. Whether emotionally or spiritually, Hugo's very being and state of mind is tied to the aggression level of the rats, the spread of the Black Plague and the livelihood of all of France and 14th Century Europe.

Just when Amicia and Lucas thought Hugo was past his influence on the blood-thirsty ravenous hordes of rats (better known as "The Bite") Amicia and Hugo get caught up with some bandits who end up attempting to kill Amicia, triggering the worst reaction that Hugo has ever unleashed in order to protect his loved ones.

While his ability to control his powers seems to be tied to a visit from a divine being, the intentions of this being are marred in a dark overtone until the being reveals its true purpose to Hugo.

No matter what...when you see the rats... RUN.
