Bridge in Hatten: Farewell to a landmark (1973)

HATTEN. In April, the federal Autobahn GmbH will begin work on the demolition and construction of the bridge over the A28 at the Hatten junction.

The existing structure, a prestressed concrete T-beam bridge from 1973, has to be replaced due to the increased traffic load. This was the result of a recalculation in 2020. As a direct result of this test, among other things, the maximum permissible speed on the bridge was limited to 50 km/h.

The replacement building will consist of multi-web T-beams and will be constructed using prestressed concrete. Prefabricated beams with an in-situ concrete addition are used as the superstructure. This shortens the construction time and no supporting scaffolding is necessary for the construction of the superstructure. The new building will make it possible to widen the cycle path in this area to more than 3 meters.
