Overview of This Project:
Finally... After a year, this project is finally over. Back in January of 2018, Dar Gos & Black Mozart released a small TAS of this hack featuring the first star. I released my own TAS of another star in this game some months later in order to practice micro-optimization techniques that have become prevalent in SM64 TASing today. A year later (Summer 2019), I decided to bring this project back again since I thought it would be fun, and got a few other SM64 TASers involved.
I took on the role of coordinating this game's run after TASing several other stars. However, the project eventually died down due to all contributors becoming busy, and we all finally reached the extremely overwhelming task of TASing the 100 Coin Star. These are usually the hardest stars SM64 TASers are tasked with completing, due to the abundance of RNG manipulation needed for optimizing coin trajectories, numerous amounts of routes to be tested, and patience required so you don't lose your sanity.
During the next couple of months, finalizing the general routing for star selection and individual stars was completed. This game features a checkpoint area, where after interacting with it, Mario will spawn from that area onward for the rest of the game until it's completed. This doubled the amount of routes to test for all 7 stars. The project ended up dying for several months again since we all got busy, and I was the only one left working on it.
I finally finished the rest of it during some free time I had over the months. Glad this project is finally over. Never again will I do this to myself. This project could've easily been finished months earlier, but I wanted to go through with optimizing this as much as possible. I learned a ton of new game mechanics and information along the way, and I think other community members did as well, so... worth it.
Star Times:
On The Hidden Pillar - 9"30
Flood The Temple - 8"50

Other unused routes for stars aren't included within this list.
This is a Tool-Assisted Speedrun/Superplay.
Don't know what that is?
