I bought this set from a second hand retailer; it was last year’s employee gift with purchase set. I always like Christmas stuff and this is no exception. There are a few negatives. The build is pretty repetitive at times, particularly building the drawers. There’s also quite a few stickers in this set. Lastly, on the second hand market, the price to piece ratio isn’t good, particularly when you think of how many of the pieces are tiny little bits. Of course there’s lots of positives. I love the subject matter. The build is fun, not super complex but fun still. I like how customizable all the building fronts are. Due to that customizability, it comes with a bunch of extra pieces, although they’re mostly small tiles. The mini builds are good too, they aren’t the most christmasy builds, but they are unique and have some interesting build techniques too. Most of the minibuilds have to do with LEGO history and it even includes a few minifigures. Most of the minibuilds also fit back in their drawers too. If you wanted to use it as a parts pack (not that I recommend that) it would be great with all the earth-tones, and standard bricks and plates, plus snot bricks. This is a good display set, from both good and back, not something you can say about most LEGO builds. Overall, not a perfect set, but still a VERY strong one, I give it an easy A.
