Драко и Гарри подружились ещё в Хогвартс-Экспрессе перед первым курсом. Но зная о нравах родителей и о том, что они явно не обрадуются этим новостям, Драко предложил скрывать дружбу и притворяться врагами.

Драко с детсва знал, что не хочет наследовать род Малфоев и ему не нравилась позиция родителей. Поэтому он собирался сбежать.

Когда возращение Волан-де-Морта стало делом времени, Драко окончательно решился на побег. Но перед этим он предложил сбежать ещё и Гарри, оставив ему всё необходимое.

Так Драко сбежал перед начало 4 курса. А Гарри сбежал зимой
