Hi there Forest River owners, today in your 2016 Forest River Wildwood X-Lite, we're gonna to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Furrion's tankless water heater. So if you've been on your camper and all of a sudden your showers are getting colder and you've noticed you just can't enjoy yourself the way you used to because it's so cold, more than often, it's probably your water heater that's gone bad, they go bad over time. When replacing one, there's a few things you'd wanna keep in mind and that's usually how much water am I gonna use was my old tank unit. Was that a big enough tank for me and everybody else that's in my camper And then of course you would wanna look at the energy efficiency. With a tankless unit, we can minimize the size of our unit here while maximizing the heat that we can deliver to our trailer. The tankless ones here should have no problem keeping up with the demand of everybody in our trailer here, so if you've got a larger family where that tank one, by the time the first two or three people got in the shower, that last one wasn't very happy about what he was left with.
With something like this here, it should be able to keep up with that heat for all of your passengers and everybody that's in your trailer here. Now you can get these water heaters in four different combinations. You can get just the tankless water heater by itself, if you're replacing an existing Furrion unit and your door matches up properly. If you need to replace this from another manufacturers and the door that you got on there is definitely not gonna work with this unit, you can get it with either a 16 by 16 door, 16 by 18 or an 18 by 18 whichever lines up best on your motorhome. Depending on the hole it's on your motorhome is gonna determine which door is best for you, we're gonna be using the 16 by 16 door today.
Here on the inside, you can turn the unit on and off as well as clean the filter. The door pops out like that and then just lifts off, if you wanna take it all the way off of there. Here on the inside, you've got your power switch as well as your fuse, so if you ever. If your unit is not working, that's usually a good place to check first, if you hit the switch on the inside of your camper and you're like, well, I got no heat, probably come out here and double check to make sure maybe if you put it in storage last year you might've put this off or if you we're doing any wiring repairs or anything like that on your trailer, somebody could have bumped a wire or something, you can check your fuse as well. The baffle that's located here is removable and simply just lift it up.
Once your baffle is removed, you can access your filter here for cleaning, it's good for maintenance. And then right above that, you have an adjustment here for water flow with a maximum being far to the left and the minimum far to the right. We're gonna go ahead and leave it at maximum setting. Included with the unit is a thermostat for controlling the temperature of the water. The thermostat here is remotely mounted, you can choose wherever you wanna put it.
Ours we went ahead and hid in the cabinet because our customer figured, hey, once I set the temperature to what I like, I'm probably not gonna adjust it again. So he's got it set in here, but you never know maybe a couple of years down the road somethings might change, he might like it a little bit warmer, a little bit cooler and he can easily access to make those adjustments there. And this unit is ab
