Codependency is a subconscious state that is the result of a young, innocent brain needing to wire itself for survival. The human brain must decide quickly whether or not their environment will welcome and protect them or reject and abandon them. Because abandonment is akin to death, feeling rejected by your family triggers the amygdala into a state of survival. As a result, the brain's neural pathways wire accordingly. And that is not your fault.

In this video, you will hear my story about recovering from emotional neglect as a child, how my need to gain attachments to others manifested as codependency, and how these traits negatively impacted my children.
