Also known as "Bethabara", "Bethany beyond the Jordan" and "Al-Maghtas", Baptism symbolizes the initiation of a person’s spiritual journey. There is an interest in finding the site where Christ was baptized because the site marked the beginning of Christ’s ministry. In fact, some would argue that it was the birthplace of Christianity.
