For a moment, I thought my career as a video content creator might be over.

AI video generators like Google's Veo 3 are getting incredibly powerful.

It can feel like the technical skills we've spent years building are becoming obsolete.

But then I realized our role isn't disappearing; it's just changing. What's left for us is to be the creative director—to guide the tool and inject the soul into the narrative.

Our job is to go beyond a simple request and craft a prompt with nuance and specific details. For my latest project, I didn't just ask for "a video of a watermelon." I gave the AI a very specific scene to build.

Here's the exact prompt I used:

"A close-up, top-down shot of a hand with pale skin and manicured nails using a dark brown wooden knife to slice through a dark green and black striped wooden watermelon. Capture the moment a slice falls away, revealing the dark red interior with black seeds. Emphasize the smooth slicing motion and the crisp ASMR sounds of the wood being cut. Use natural lighting and a shallow depth of field to bring out the texture of the wood and the contrast between the watermelon and the knife. The knife blade is embossed with a tiny text 'Adrian Video Image'."
