Jack Shepherd talks about how his boat crashed on the River Thames

Web designer Jack Shepherd, 30, was convicted of the manslaughter of Charlotte Brown, 23, after she was thrown overboard during a date on his speedboat on the River Thames in 2015. Miss Brown died of cold water immersion after plunging into the freezing water and the jury was shown a shocking video she made during the ride saying 'Oh my god, you're going so fast'. Neither were wearing lifejackets and the boat also had 'serious defects', the court heard. Shepherd was convicted in his absence after absconding from bail in March. He has been in touch with his legal team via phone but police have been unable to track him down and do not even know if he is in the country.
