What is Illegal Formation?

In this video i show you what Illegal formation is and what you need.

Illegal formation in the NFL is a 5 yard penalty, which is happening more and more as NFL offenses try to come up with different ways to attack a defense. For a Formation to be Legal you must have at least 7 players on the line. A typical Formation will have 7 players on the line, and 4 players off the line. For a player to be "off the line" they must be at least 1 yard behind the line of scrimmage.

There a few different things that can change Illegal Formations like if you have an inside guy on the line, and the outside player on the same side on the line, then inside guy will be an ineligible receiver, due to him being covered up by the Wide Receiver (Or Wide Out.)
