In the past, the main road to the Pelagonian plateau passed through the valley southeast of the city of Kicevo. Here in the village of Miokazi on the hill Venec, in antiquity there was a significant fortified settlement. In the late Macedonian period, its inhabitants built an early Christian basilica on the top.
The site was explored by my dear colleague archaeologist Gordana Spasovska Dimitrioska (who today is with the angels in the sky).
If the local municipality of Kicevo shows interest, this place can quickly grow into a representative archaeological-tourist monument that will find its place in the local cultural development.
