GRILLED (OR BAKED!) HONEY HARISSA CHICKEN THIGHS 😋 If there’s one thing I do well… it’s make 🔥 protein recipes and that’s because I prioritize protein at every single meal so I feel strong and satiated. And this? This is one of the best chicken recipes I’ve ever made. The chicken comes out juicy, caramelized, and seriously addictive. And if you are hosting this Labor Day weekend, let this be the star of your table. Grill it or bake it—just don’t skip the sauce. 🙌

Honey Harissa Chicken Thighs
2 lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs
1/4 cup olive oil, divided
3 tb harissa paste (you can find at major grocery stores!)
2 tb honey
1/4 cup lemon juice (~1 lemon)
3 cloves garlic, mashed minced
1 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
Harissa Sauce
1/3 cup olive oil
2 tb harissa paste
1/4 cup lemon juice (~1 lemon)
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
2 cloves garlic
1 tsp kosher salt
Garnishes:
Pickles onions
Parsley, chopped
In a blender, add all of the ingredients for the harissa sauce, blend until smooth, and set aside. Next, pat chicken dry and add to a large bowl. Add all of the ingredients listed above and toss to coat well. Cover bowl and let marinate for at least 30 minutes. Turn grill on to 500F. Spray grill grates with avocado oil spray. Once the grill has reached 500F, add the chicken. Do not touch for 7 min. Then flip to the other side and do not touch for 6-7 minute more, or until the internal temp reaches 165F. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes, then pour 1/2 of the sauce on top, garnish with parsley and pickled onions. Serve with remaining sauce on the side. *If using your oven, preheat oven to 400F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Add chicken, then bake for 15 minutes. Flip to the other side and bake for 13-15 minutes more. To get that crispy brown top, broil for 2 minutes at the end. Enjoy!
