Gerard Kuiper was Director of Yerkes Observatory and a world renowned astronomer, commonly referred to as the father of planetary science. Kuiper began to change the way we viewed the moon during his time at Yerkes with brilliant new techniques.

Lynne F. Zielinski has a bachelor's degree in physics from the University of Colorado and a master's degree in physics from Northeastern Illinois University. She is a retired teacher of physics, astronomy and space science for 32 years from Glenbrook North High School in Northbrook, Illinois. She has been a Stars At Yerkes Educator for more than 20 years and is currently the Vice President of Education and Outreach for the National Space Society and does educational professional development and consulting work around the world. She has been studying this topic for a decade and we are very excited to have her on this episode of the GLASroom!
