Cork played host to the penultimated round of the 1992 Irish Tarmac Rally Championship where Frank Meagher was hopeful his run of luck would continue as he sought a maiden Irish Tarmac title. However, dramatic events would see the title pendulum swing back in Bertie Fisher's favour with Meagher and Kenny McKinstry both failing to finish.
