Variable Gibault Coupling from Waterworks

Hi. In this video we’re looking at the Variable Gibault Coupling from Waterworks.

Variable Gibaults are a versatile solution for connecting pipes of varying diameters and materials, . They are able to join two sections of pipe with an OD variance of up to 24mm.

Variable Gibaults facilitates quick repairs minimising downtime and allows for easy installation, making it ideal for emergency situations. This coupling is ideal for various applications, ensuring reliable performance in pipeline repairs and maintenance projects.
Let’s have a closer look.

Features (Please say these titles)
They have a 316 Stainless Steel Barrel: Providing superior corrosion protection for long-term durability.
The Bolts and Nuts are316 Stainless Steel: They also have a Molybond-coated to prevent galling.
The Plastic Thread Protectors: Protect the threads during transport & installation.
The end flanges are made from Ductile Iron : and have a fusion coateding for added durability.
The Convex Barrel: Allows for angular deflection for slight misalignments.
They feature a Nitrile Gasket: Ensuring a secure seal to prevent leaks.

Specifications
We currently stock Sizes Ranging from: Nominal size 80mm – 300mm, however Other sizes are available on request.
They are suitable for an operating Temperature Range: of -10ºC to 60ºC.
These couplings are suitable for an Operating Pressure range: Up to 1600kPa for sizes DN80 to DN300.

Deflection Rates
As mentioned, the convex barrel allows for some deflection when joining two pipes. The deflection rates vary across the different sizes as follows:

Sizes, DN80 - DN150 - – can accommodate a deflection of up to 6° each end on range of coupling.
Sizes DN200 - DN250 - – a deflection of 3° .
And DN300 - a 1.5° deflection.

Applications
Variable Gibault’s are an excellent solution for water and wastewater systems, adeptly handling pressure, easy to install, and ensuring a secure seal.
It’s important to note variable couplings are not suited to all types of pipes such as PE unless a restraint is included. Local authority and best practice installation practices must be followed at all times.

So, to wrap up, the Variable Gibault Coupling is a durable and adaptable choice for various piping applications, offering exceptional performance and reliability. For more details, visit www.waterworksnz.co.nz.
