County Pot (31/01/2026, PECA trip)

Around a 25minuite walk from Bull Pot Farm you can find a manhole with a metal lid at a foot of a small cliff. The climb down the manhole is around 5m broken climb (has rocky/uneven terrain with random ledges.

once you get down from the climb you follow a winding passage which you find the first pitch. There is a large natural feature on which the 7m pitch was rigged on using a figure of 8. (The same one used during climbing when you attach yourself to the rope.). Turn a corner which feels like 360 turn.

I was the first person to decend once the most experienced leader and the person he was teaching were at the bottom. As I was descending I was told to let go of the rope and hold my stopper down, because the leader was showing that you are able to help someone decend/stop falling while you were at the bottom. Pulling the rope causes friction in the decender/stopper, stopping/slowing the person descending.

There is then a easy walk to a 2.5m climb, which the leader (and student) set up a hand line. Which we in turn used as SRT training. Once at the bottom of this climb you have entered "Broadway". "Broadway" is a roomy streamway.

There were two ways in which you could take (if not going opposite the flow of the water.). We took the turn to the left (not to the right which was towards a waterfall; we would come out from this way later.). From what I can understand reading the book, this junction is called the oxford circus.

Taking the turn to the left we would follow the stream way along Mushroom Passage into Razor passage and end up at platypus junction. Platypus junction is apparently named this as there used to be a protruding rock that was formed as a platypus bill. (a bit of the bill has unfortunatly broken off). By Platypus Junction there is a junction which can take you to Manchester Bypass, however we were doing a quick round trip back to county pot.

we turned right by the platypus's bill, turned right again I believe. We got to a point where you could go two ways and end up at the same chamber. I took the route to the right (the left followed up the stream way), and had a nice crawl. I cannot remember the name of this chamber. But follow it through and you climb up past a waterfall, and you are back to the oxford circus. And we left the cave the same way we came down.
