Saman Kipah - Gema Citra Nusantara @Soka Gakkai

A unique dance from a special region Aceh, located at the uppermost of Sumatera island. The dance is accompanied by musical
instruments called Rapai, and a song is sung directly by the dancers
following the movement of the dance under the direction of a commanding vocal, who in the lead is called Aneuk Syahi. Eight to twenty female performers kneel in a row on the floor and make different kinds of torso movements accompanied by songs, clapping hands, slapping chests, slapping hands on the floor, etc. The dancers move and make simultaneous movement starts with slow movements and increases its tempo gradually to great speed and finally come to a sudden stop while sitting in a straigh row on the floor. It is said that this dance is developed from ritual movements of the muslims praying by giving some praises to God Almighty, in the development of this dance it then became an entertaining performance.
