'Sir Keir Starmer "Utterly Condemns" Diane Abbot's Comments on Racism'

Keir Stamer has condemned comments about racism by Diane Abbott as “antisemitic”.

In a letter to the Observer published on Sunday, Abbott suggested that Jewish, Irish and Traveller people were not subject to racism “all their lives”, prompting Labour to withdraw the whip.

Ms Abbot was responding to a comment piece in The Guardian which questioned the view that racism 'only affects people of colour'.

Labour said the comments were deeply offensive. Abbot will not be able to represent the party in the House of Commons pending an investigation into the letter.
