A vast country like India, the disparity between the higher and lower income groups is prominent with a sizeable section of the population still deprived of the basic amenities and facilities to lead a comfortable life. But there are people who strive hard for a change through technology, despite having limited availability of resources. Mr. Nitin Maurya talks on how small ideas when transformed into reality can bring about a major change in the lives of a large section of the population. Mr. Nitin Maurya, a scientist at the National Innovation Foundation-India, works with innovators in the informal sector who develop frugal innovations at the grassroots. He will share his experiences and learning working with these innovators, and illustrate how small ideas when transformed into reality, can bring about a major change in the lives of a large section of the population. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
