BMW X3 Front Brake Rotor & Pad Replacement DIY (2018-2023 BMW G01 X3 xDrive30i, sDrive30i)

►Your BMW G01's front brakes handle a majority of the stopping power provided by the brake pedal. While that is best for everyone's safety, that also means they tend to wear out faster than the rears. No matter when they do you, you'll need to replace the pads and rotors asap to ensure your G01 X3 is safe to drive on the road. Replacing your brake pads and rotors at the first sign of low life is the best way to ensure your vehicle remains as safe as possible.

Brake pads and rotors on your X3 should last to around the 60,000-mile mark, but different driving conditions will affect the interval. When they do wear to the point of replacement, a few things will happen. First, the onboard computer will alert you via a warning message on your instrument cluster, thanks to the pad wear sensors on the calipers. If you continue to drive after that, you'll eventually see aggressive grooves on the rotor face, grinding under braking, and even a juddering at speed under braking.
