Climate change is making our cities hotter (CBS News Texas)

Data shows that, over the past 50 years, all but three cities of the 50 most-populated cities in the United States are experiencing more 'extremely hot' days above 95°F.

This clip from CBS News Texas features Tucker Landesman, a researcher at the international Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) explaining the reality.

He says: "If this continues, the health and productivity costs could be immense. Recent years have proved heat is a killer and this can be particularly true for children, the elderly and people on lower incomes or who live in substandard housing. High temperatures are also linked with premature and still births, and other health problems during pregnancy."
