The way this woman took revenge for her insult is seen only in movies.

This is from 25th March 1989.

Jayalalithaa was the leader of opposition in Tamil Nadu assembly.

When she opposed the budget of Karunanidhi's DMK government in the assembly, their leaders started misbehaving with Jayalalithaa.

Jayalalithaa saw that the ruckus was increasing, so she started leaving the assembly.

But then Duraimurugan, a close aide of Karunanidhi, stopped Jayalalithaa from going out.

Her sari was pulled due to which her sari got torn and Jayalalithaa fell on the ground.

Jayalalithaa came out of the assembly with her torn sari and while leaving the house she thundered that now I will return to this house only after becoming the Chief Minister, otherwise I will never come back"

Just 2 years later, Jayalalithaa surprised Karunanidhi by winning 225 out of 234 seats in the assembly elections and in this way Jayalalithaa fulfilled her promise and also became the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
