Jung, Sang Gil, is one of few expert Balwoo bowl makers left in Korea. The wooden bowls, originally used by Buddhist monks, are entirely handcrafted — from chopping the wood, to carving the shapes, to sanding, to staining, and more — and are cut and finished with care to fit perfectly inside one another.
