Often it is quite confusing and different people have a different opinions on which is the fastest train in India

some say Gatimaan Express is the fastest train which currently runs at 160 km/h and is the only semi-high speed train in India meanwhile some say Vande Bharat Express is the fastest train in India which has clocked 180km/h in trials
