MIRACLES: Atmospheres Matter

One of the most astounding things we can read in the Gospels are the multiple occurrences when Jesus, either by His words or His actions, made it clear that the release of miracles can either be helped or hindered by people’s attitudes. Specifically, our own faith and expectancy can serve as a healthy atmosphere where miracles are more likely to occur. Likewise, a resistance or unbelief toward the miraculous power of Jesus can shut down what might have otherwise been a powerful display of His glory. Could this still be happening in churches today? The answer is YES. The spiritual atmosphere within Christians’ hearts and the churches they attend can powerfully impact (for better or worse) what kind of power is released in our churches.
