UPDATE: This video found someone who also purchased a guitar from a Gibson employee that has the same apex prototype head carve volute, but lacked inlays on the fretboard and no binding on the body with a regular abr-1 bridge and tailpiece - A Modern Double Cut "Studio" if you will. It has a serial number though dating to 2013 so that means this one likely DID come from 2013 and the pickups are stock in this guitar (but likely changed for something else at some point in time)

A few weeks ago we documented the Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Modern Prototype which used an early version of what is now known as the Apex Headcarve. It also featured a unique bridge/tailpiece combination unit. Now... I've uncovered a modern double cut prototype with similar features!
